What concessions must they make or what must they give up in order to find that equality?

In no fewer than 1000 words, and using either or both of the Vonnegut stories we read, (Harrison Bergeron and 2BR02B), write an Argument Essay with research answering your choice of the following questions:
1 – Both Harrison Bergeron and 2BR02B deal with futuristic societies that can be considered dystopian. What are some examples of real world, seemingly dystopian societies, (current or historical)? Do people choose to live in these societies, or are they stuck there? Are these real life societies considered successful or, like Vonnegut’s societies, have they failed in their bid to be societal utopias? Give at least two real-world examples of Dystopias (you may not use the current United States), and show how they became dystopias, how they may have tried to be a Utopia, and why citizens might stay there. Remember to tie it back to Vonnegut’s story or stories.
2 – Harrison Bergeron and 2BR02B both hinge strongly on the idea of equality and/or equity within their respective societies. How are the ideas of equality and/or equity important to other utopian societies (either in real life or in fiction)? Do they work in Vonnegut’s short story societies? Do they work in real life utopian societies or in fictional ones? (You may not use the current United States). Note that you do not have to look at entire countries here, but any functioning group or system. Do the citizens or participants really achieve equality? What concessions must they make or what must they give up in order to find that equality? Remember to tie it back Vonnegut’s story or stories.
Develop your essay using the basic features of a research paper. Remember to include argument in your introduction, in the form of your thesis. Support your stance with three points in the body of your paper. Be sure to restate your thesis and finish strong with your conclusion!
Important: For this paper you are required to use one or both of the Vonnegut short stories in this section for this module as sources and (2) additional scholarly academic sources from the Library database of journals or catalog.
You should format your paper in APA style and use APA in-text citations and include the References page to document the article you’re responding to. For help with APA, see the “Writing Resources” link in Blackboard. Also, please include a word count at the end of your essay but before your References page.
Your essay will be evaluated on the following criteria:
How clear and focused the thesis statement is
How well the essay conforms to the basic features of a research paper
How well citations are integrated into the essay
How well the argument is supported with reasonable assertions and evidence
How well the essay uses clear, coherent, complete and correct sentences
How well the essay conforms to APA documentation
Includes the required sources
Includes a References page in APA format (which will not be counted towards a page count)
