Some steps are easy.

Complete all of Test 3: Activities to Generate Material for the Essay (180 pts). There are 6 steps. The instructions for them are covered on pages 6 through 15 of these instructions. Some steps are easy. Step 3 is the most challenging and most important. It involves re-reading the two short stories you chose to write about in the essay, and gathering passages from them and writing about them. All of these activities together are worth a 180-point test grade. The writing you generate by completing these activities should be used in Essay 1.
Take the results from Test 3: Activities to Generate Material for the Essay and shape them into a 5- to 7-page essay about the two short stories you examined during those activities. This will involve some organizational work, to make these materials into an essay, and it will involve some additional writing, as well, to make the essay read like an essay, not like a collection of activities.
