The more you share about your trip to the farm, the more extra credit points you will receive (up to 20 points)

Name and location of farm, website address, contact information.
What they grow/raise (vegetables, livestock, eggs, fresh cut flowers, etc.)
How animals are raised/pastured (rotational grazing? regenerative agriculture? Use of antibiotics?)
How vegetables are grown and harvested. (No-till farming Organic fertilizers and pesticides? Carbon capture? Crop rotation? Agroforestry?)
Names of owners, number of employees.
Do they offer weekly delivery of fresh-food farm boxes?
Do they offer internships? School visits? Open year round, seasonally, or by appointment only?
Do they participate in any festivals or other annual events?
If the website provides additional information, the farm’s history noteworthy details about the land, owners, or legacy about the business, please share.
Share the farm’s mission statement if provided.
Share what you found noteworthy about the farm. If it becomes possible, would you like to visit? Why?
Contact the Farm: You do not have to formally interview a farmer, but do schedule a casual QA via email or on their contact page (sample interview questions below).
A few farm suggestions if you live in WA State.
Note: I’ve had many students thank me profusely at the end of the quarter for forcing them to experience a fun atmosphere, tastiness, and good times at their local farmers market (esp fun if you go with a friend or two, or rally together with a few other students from this class), but I do understand there are not only limitations due to employment, child care, time constraints, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
