Essay Three: Argumentative Visual Text Analysis (150 points)
A visual text is a text that you can view that dictates a specific a message. This can be a variety of things such as television shows, films, comic strips, political propaganda, and much more. A visual text analysis will be a deep dive of a text that focuses on the messages that are being iterated and the importance of said message.
Objective
The purpose of this assignment is to further assess your critical thinking skills and enhance your analytical capabilities. You will write a six (6) to eight (8) page essay analyzing a visual text (commercial, magazine ad, propaganda, comic strip, etc.) and carefully interpreting the ways in which a message is being delivered. You will determine what the message is that is being conveyed, how the message functions in the world today, and why the message is important to conceptualize.

– Correctly and thoughtfully analyze the ethos, pathos, and logos appeals used in the text (without directly referencing the Greek terms in the essay)
– Engage in a knowledgeable discussion that identifies the target demographic and explains how the relevant features of the text potentially influence a specific
– Craft an assertive thesis statement that takes an analytical position regarding the implicit/hidden claims/aims in the text
