Due December 13, by 4:30 PM. Label this attachment ‘Storytelling Essay’. The minimum length is two and one-half pages using MLA format. Proofread, spell, and grammar check, and do not use contractions. YOU MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE for THIS CLASS OR YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO EVEN IF YOU SUBMITTED YOUR PAPER. You are required to keep your video on throughout this two-hour final exam class, and you must stay present on Zoom. Make sure there is no background noise when you are reading your story and there is no activity in the background as to distract the viewers.
This may be written in the first person or from another point of view (see Literary Terms handout). Be creative! You will read your story to the class on 12/13 ~ 5:30-7:30 PM. This essay is the story of your adventure/your experience that you took when you went into the wild!

Use imagery so your audience will find meaning in the experience you are sharing.

The stories that get us curious, excited, and emotionally involved have an element of tension. This can be a conflict, an accident, or a problem; something that just isn’t quite right.

Remember your role as the storyteller – do not skimp out on the small details.
The best way to start an essay is with a thought-provoking statement or by asking a question that anyone reading your report can think about as they continue to read.
Rely on descriptive adjectives and words that create clear visualizations. It is your job to engage with your readers.
Call upon your natural storytelling ability to create a text that is both informative and engaging
Include the setting of your story…location and enough information about where you went for your adventure and thus, this story!
Ask friends and family to read your story or better yet, you read it to them before submitting your paper. Hopefully these people will be honest with you and tell you if they have questions and/or do not understand the flow of your paper. YOU were there and they were not, therefore YOU must make it perfectly clear using words to describe your setting, your adventure.
