This third essay will be a short two to three (2-3) page response to the readings so far. You read a short story in Week Twelve (“Never Marry a Mexican”), and have begun reading the main text for the final this week as well (Ceremony). You may focus on one or write a comparison of the two. Please cite all sources and use MLA format 9th ed. Minimum one (1) academic/peer-reviewed source.
Be sure to give pertinent information on your primary text in your introduction paragraph as well as your thesis and supporting three points. Please see the Handout on How to Write an Intro Download Handout on How to Write an Introif you need a refresher!
Possible unifying themes for this short essay include, but are not limited to: POV, Isolation, Class Struggle, Systemic Racism, World War I, Power and Perception, Generational Trauma, Hope, Clemency, and Forgiveness.
