While I realize this video is pretty dated, the practices it outlines have certainly kept going (Target, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby) and expanded to previously unimaginable proportions (Amazon). Where do you stand on these companies? Do they do as much or more harm than good to workers? Are the low prices worth how these companies treat their employees and the effect they have on American jobs as outlined in the video? Has the video changed your perspective on big-box retailers as American institutions? How? Given the human and economic cost you’ve seen here, do you think Wal-mart/Home Depot/Amazon are good for America?
NOTE: I’m not asking about whether these corporations are good for you, or your family or budget. Think about what you see in the video, and ask yourself if they are good for the country.
