Here are the directions for the assignment: You have been asked by your executive leadership team to submit a paper that will give an overview of legal issues regarding religion and how they should be observed and/or regulated in your workplace. You may paraphrase from the textbook, but do not copy word for word. The written summary need not be lengthy…it should simply provide an overview of some of the issues below.
The issues you discuss should include the following:
Prayer during instructional time
Organized prayer groups and activities
Teachers, professors, administrators, other employees and their allowances
Moments of silence
Accommodation of prayer during instructional time
Religious expression and prayer in class assignments
Student assemblies and co-curricular activities
Prayer in graduation ceremonies
Baccalaureate or other religious services
Other settings where this issue may be contentious
The paper does not have to include all of the issues. These are just some examples of what can be imbedded in the paper. I have attached a copy of the chapter below.
