Summary:
This term, you have developed a strong Research Question, conducted your research and written a paper. Specifically, in Week 3 we started with an Annotated Bibliography (500 words minimum) to help you choose a topic to investigate. We provided you with some example topics found in our GMC Online Library to get you started. You chose one of these topics, or you chose a topic of your own that was approved by your professor. Here are the example topics with links to our GMC Online Library below (hint – log into our Moodle page first before clicking the links to gain access quicker):
Americanization of Education
Pandemics and Income Inequality
Social identity and globalization
Supply chain and pandemic
Fake News on Social Media
Globalization and climate change
Next, in Week 5, we developed an In-Depth Outline (500 words minimum) where you figured out how you to use the sources you discovered for your Annotated Bibliography assignment. In week 5, you developed your finalized research question and your thesis statement. Next, you dove into the outline for each body paragraphs, outlining at least four body paragraphs where you wrote your topic sentences, your examples with in-text citations, and your wrap-up sentences. Your outline looked something like this:
Research Question:
Thesis Statement: (a complex sentence that answers your RQ)
Topic sentence 1: (The first reason your thesis is true.)
Example 1: (Information from your first source with intext citation in MLA format.)
Wrap-up sentences: (3-4 sentences that connect your example to your topic sentence and your topic sentence to your thesis.)
Topic sentence 2: (The second reason your thesis is true.)
Example 2: (Information from your second source with intext citation in MLA format.)
Wrap-up sentences: (3-4 sentences that connect your example to your topic sentence and your topic sentence to your thesis.)
Topic sentence 3: (The third reason your thesis is true.)
Example 3: (Information from your third source with intext citation in MLA format.)
Wrap-up sentences: (3-4 sentences that connect your example to your topic sentence and your topic sentence to your thesis.)
Topic sentence 4: (The fourth reason your thesis is true.)
Example 4: (Information from your fourth source with intext citation in MLA format.)
Wrap-up sentences: (3-4 sentences that connect your example to your topic sentence and your topic sentence to your thesis.)
Then, in Week 6 after you reviewed your feedback on your outline, you started the First Draft of your Research Paper (500 words minimum), with introduction, one body paragraph, and a Works Cited page. This first draft was to help you practice turning an outline into a paper and to shed light on any holes you needed to patch before finishing your whole paper.
Finally, in Week 7, you will write your Complete Essay 3 Research Paper (1,200 words minimum). Be sure to incorporate the feedback you receive on your introduction and first body paragraph into this final paper. Here, you will flesh out your remaining body paragraphs and your conclusion. You will include your Works Cited page at the end. As always, be sure to reach out to your professor for help.
You will include your works cited page at the end.
