Are you sure they cannot do the job?

Please read Chapter 7 in Deaf Culture (pages 181-200).
When the word “normal” pops up, people usually think of others like themselves. So, if an individual is meeting a signing Deaf person, they may see them as “different”. Communication is different which sometimes makes hearing people uncomfortable. Does this reinforce opinions that Deaf people are limited in their ability to function? Would you go to a Deaf doctor, Deaf mechanic or Deaf Lawyer? Can you think of jobs that Deaf people cannot do? Are you sure they cannot do the job?
