What are we doing? 
As we are discussing argumentative topics and exploring ideas for an argumentative essay as well as examining Chapter 15 on argumentation, you should be considering an argumentative topic of your choice. 
Before any written assignment is given, I want you to explore a controversial topic that you might want to spend some time with over the next couple of essay assignments.  This topic is flexible — once you’ve spent some time, you may decide to change topics. That change is NOT advisable but is permissible. 
What is the assignment?
In 3 paragraphs (ranging from 5-7 sentences) introduce your controversial topic in the first paragraph (do NOT indicate to the reader which side you are on –POINTS will be LOST if you TELL YOUR SIDE) . In the second paragraph, discuss one side of the topic (pro for that topic). Still do NOT indicate IF this is YOUR SIDE.  In the third paragraph, discuss the opposing side of the topic (cons for that topic). Still do NOT indicate IF this is YOUR SIDE.
