our lives
2. Had you ever thought about literacy as something that extends beyond
learning to read
and write?
3 Had you ever thought about it at all?  Ok to say No. 
4. What do you now understand about literacy—both as it pertains to writing and as it 
pertains to learning, in general
5. From your perspective, what does it mean to be culturally literate,
with regard to the 
culture we all live in every day? 
6. What does it mean to be
literature in the ideas that shape our culture, like social class and
mobility?
7. Is cultural literacy important in practical ways? Is it just a nice
thing to have?
