INTRODUCTION:
Now that you’ve read pp. 100-107 of our text, the end of Chapter 6 on how to read short fiction, and the beginning of Chapter 7 on structure, what are the key concepts that interested you or that you may find useful in conducting your own analyses of various pieces of literature.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Write up a 250 to 500-word Reflection on ideas contained on pp. 100-107 of our text. Be sure to summarize the authors’ ideas into your own words, as opposed to quoting directly from the text.
OBJECTIVE:
The more tools you have at your disposal to conduct a proper analysis of a piece of literature, e.g., a short story, the better your analysis will be. My hope is that the text authors will give you ideas you can use to conduct an analysis on the short story, “The Things They Carried.”
