BA Students: Case Study Draft
Each of you will be responsible for developing a case study that deals with the content of the course. This case study can deal with any aspect of the intersection between religion, nature and globalization. For instance, one might look at the Dakota Pipeline protests and relate it to the Indigenous perspectives of nature and humans. Or, one might look at a community that is promoting eco-halal or eco-kosher practices, and show how this translates into different understandings of human-earth relations. Or, one might look at the ways in which specific understandings of gender and/or sexuality shape human-earth relations. The point is to find a specific group, place, person or thing and then use that to bring the reader into the complex issues surrounding religion, nature, and globalization. Each case study should be about 1200 written words, and include: a picture, 5 discussion questions, and 5 further readings/resources (can be web resources, articles, books, videos, etc.). If you need an example of how to develop a case study, view Designing and Conducting Case Studies Links to an external site..
Final draft is due during finals week. It is strongly recommended that you submit a draft of your Case Study by November 18th at the latest. That way, I will have a chance to give you some feedback before you turn in the final version.
