Preparation of a (scholarly) research paper (theoretical or empirical / systematic literature review or case study) of around 4000 words that will explore one particular school leader who has made considerable contribution to the improvement of the school (in one specific area) where he/she is currently working. This school leader ideally has a few years of experience and the school where he/she is currently working has relatively good rating. You may choose to use any data collection methods to gather relevant information to account in this case study research report. The focus of this study must be on the best practices of the school leader for school improvement rather evaluating his/her performance (it is not the performance of the leader that you assess, but the improvement of the school that came through the impacts made by the school leader). Read the Kentucky’s Standards and Indicators for School Improvement 9 indicators that I have uploaded at assignment rubric and samples folder: Academic performance – 1. Curriculum 2, classroom evaluation assessment, 3. instruction), Learning Environment (4. School culture, 5. Student, family and community support, 6. Professional growth, development, and evaluation), Efficiency (7. Leadership, 8. Organisational structure and resources, 9. Comprehensive and effective planning) – don’t miss to reference it appropriately when you use these indicators in your study. On top of these 9 indicators you may also explore other relevant indicators that you think could be relevant for your case. This work will constitute 70% of the student’s final grade of this module. The following are the sections in which the assignment has to be organized; (if systematic literature review is chosen follow this order: Introduction 15%, methodology
15%, literature review 40%, conclusion 15%, others 15% (number of references for SLR must be 30+)
