Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes are prominent authors during the Harlem Renaissance (Chapter 22 in The Norton Introduction to Literature). Conduct some research about each of them and then construct a 1500 word essay discussing their voices during the Renaissance. Include in the essay specific references to their works to support your points. This essay does not need to be a summary of their lives or a summary of their works. It needs to be an analysis of how their voices influenced the times. Focus on discussing how they used their voices to effect awareness and change and also discuss through what means they used their voices, e.g., writing, dance, etc.
