What social and cultural experiences do first generation, latinx students attribute to their academic persistence at a historically black university?

My research questions are:
1. What are the academic experiences that attribute to persistence amongst first-generation, Latinx students attending a historically Black university?
2. What social and cultural experiences do first generation, Latinx students attribute to their academic persistence at a historically Black university?
3. How do first generation, Latinx students, attending a historically Black university, navigate their social and cultural experiences on campus?
My rationale at a glance: Unfamiliarity with the HBCU campus and lack of cultural representation for Latinx students may present obstacles as this minority group attempts to adjust to college life. According to Allen (2016), family members, professors, administrators, peers, and off-campus employers are pivotal during the adjustment period, when Latinx minority students initially enroll at HBCUs.
The literature review should be in alignment with the rationale (or my thinking) to ensure it ties into chapter 1 seamlessly.
